SAN ISIDRO is a fifth class municipality on Siargao Island in the Province of Surigao del Norte, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 6,973.

CLIMATE

The area has type II climate (No dry season, no very pronounced wet season). In a year, there be only two (2) months when rainfall is less than 1,000 mm in 1997, where was an El Nino phenomenon, this area and even Surigao City received 3,200 mm of rainfall, and most of the rainfall of the area is due to inter-tropical convergence zone (ITZ) due to Northeastern Monsoon and the occasional disturbance.

 

TOPOGRAPHY

This area is flat on the rice land side and in the inland portion that form plateau in the mountainous side almost 75% of its land; flat gentlyrolling to moderates his has 10% that comprises basaltic or indifferences soil usually mountainous; and moderate rolling to hill up to hilly is 15% usually Southern part of the barangay in Sta. Paz where timber product is situated.
